Life Insurance for Temporary Residents in Australia
There are a large number of British expats currently in Australia working on temporary resident work visas, such as the 457 visa, and life insurance is now available for them from several Australian insurers. Expats had previously needed to show an intention to stay in Australia permanently.
Income Protection, TPD and Trauma cover are also available, but some restrictions do apply however, such as benefits only applying for a two year period. Cover can also only commence on arrival in Australia and is generally limited to a maximum of AUD2M.
The premium rates applying to this insurance are usually the same as those applying to Australian citizens and if a temporary visa holder then becomes either a permanent resident or citizen, then they can simply continue with their existing cover on an uninterrupted basis.
Should you wish to arrange cover, or have a question in this regard, please complete an Inquiry Form and we will arrange a prompt response. The quotation will be arranged through a licensed Australian broker and no commitment attaches.
